Puppeteers of America, a national nonprofit organization founded in 1937, provides information, encourages performances, and builds a community of people who love puppet theatre.
Puppeteers of America encourages local puppet groups known as “guilds.” The guilds are independently run with no financial or administrative connection to Puppeteers of America. To help facilitate the creation and operation of these guilds, Puppeteer of America has eight regional units, one of which is the Southeast region, covering Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
